Leaders in productivity receive awards
Following a stringent adjudication process, the agency tasked by government to promote productivity and competitiveness in the country, presents the first Productivity SA Awards in the Eastern Cape.
Productivity SA, a public entity registered as an association “not for gain” in terms of the Companies Act, runs the annual regional and national award competition to acknowledge individuals, organisations and communities for their contributions to building South Africa’s productive capacity.
The acting Chief Executive Officer for Productivity SA, Bongani Coka, says through the awards, Productivity SA focuses on critical growth sectors and aims to make our enterprises more competitive.
The Eastern Cape will participate in the Productivity SA awards for the first time. The awards are adjudged out of three categories, the Emerging, Corporate and Public sectors. The criteria employed to adjudge finalists includes assessing the implementation of methods to measure production line thereby indicating the impact of productivity on the bottom line of profit-making organisations, and the impact relative to costs in the case of individuals or nonprofit-making organisations.
